Aberdeen: Joining Together to Make a Difference on Earth Day

On April 22 we honored over 50 years of celebrating Earth Day. To commemorate this day, we partnered with local students from Roncalli High School and Presentation College as we worked together to clean up our local areas (image above). The sun was shining as students joined sisters and staff to clean the grounds at Presentation Heights and the grounds at Mother Joseph Manor Park, which is adjacent to our new Presentation Place residence.

Cleaning up at Bishop Dudley Hospitality House in Sioux Falls.

We continued our Earth Day festivities in Sioux Falls by cleaning up the neighborhood in downtown that houses the city’s homeless shelter and banquet. Sisters and Presentation People worked together with guests of the homeless shelter and covered a six-block radius.

We also realize that it may not have been possible for every sister, staff member or student to assist in cleaning up these areas, but we thank them for their clean-up efforts to beautify our world how it worked for them and their continued prayers as we join together in making the world a better place for future generations.
