Catholic Charities North Dakota will honor Sister Agatha Lucey, Sister Josephine Brennan and Sister Mary Beauclair for the 2018 Fargo Caritas Award because of their outstanding service, love and respect for humanity. Living in the life of Catholic social teachings for over 28 years these three Presentation Sisters constantly provided God’s love and care at Riverview Place in Fargo, North Dakota.
The Caritas Award is given annually to persons or organizations in recognition of outstanding service and love for humanity. The purpose of the Caritas Award is to recognize an individual or organization who has, by example and deed, served persons in need and advocated for justice and convened other persons of good will to do the same in a manner consistent with Catholic Social Teaching.
Congratulations to Friend of Nano (Associate) Tami Kraft on being named Outstanding Catholic Teacher in the Nation by the National Catholic Education Associate (NCEA). Tami teaches at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception School in the Diocese of Crookston, Minnesota, and will receive the 2018 Lead. Learn. Proclaim Award (NCEA) for dedication and commitment to excellence. Tami is Sister Stella Olson’s daughter and, after 33 years of teaching, she is planning on retiring at the end of the year.
“The families at the Cathedral School are the most rewarding part of my life. I am blessed by all the families that have gone through our school. I have learned something from each family and child with whom I have worked,” said Tami.
Tami was chosen from more than 150,000 teachers and administrators, as well as diocesan leaders and organizations dedicated to the nation’s Catholic schools. Tami will be recognized during the annual NCEA 2018 Convention & Expo that will take place April 3 – 5 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The annual award honors those whose ministry is Catholic school education and who have demonstrated a strong Catholic educational philosophy as well as exceptional ability, dedication and results.
