On Saturday, September 14, 2019, Bishop Robert McManus celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving in gratitude for Sister Margaret Garvey’s 100 years of life.
Sister Margaret was born in Central Falls, Rhode Island, and has served the church as a Sister of the Presentation for 82 years, ministering in the Archdiocese of Boston and the dioceses of Providence and Worcester. Her ministry centered on education and religious education. She served in numerous roles both in her community and diocesan posts. Sister Margaret was joined by her family and numerous friends to celebrate God’s gifts and blessings of a century of life. We congratulate her and pray: May the Lord bless you and keep you; May he let his face shine upon you; And grant you peace.
