Union US Unit Hosts Volunteers in Shaw, Mississippi

This past summer a Youth Group from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Biloxi, Mississippi, came to Presentation Sisters Center in Shaw, Mississippi, to do volunteer work for us. They were a small group but a powerful group in relation to the work they accomplished.  They power-hosed the entire building, weeded, trimmed trees, washed the entire fence and then painted it, plus prepared the porch and steps for painting. They accomplished all this in one day and one evening.  The youth minister, Amanda (A.J.) Lazano and two volunteer adults supervised and worked side-by-side with them.

It was a joy to watch the youth and adults work so well and closely together. Sister Wiona and Sister Maura, who run the Center and its various programs, were so grateful to the group and delighted to see the beautiful clean building and its surroundings.  The pictures show how hard they worked as well as enjoyed themselves while doing the work.
