Aberdeen Presentation Sisters – Teeing It Up

On June 13, 2016, the Aberdeen Presentation Sisters hosted their 21st annual women’s golf tournament. Fifty-six women shared a beautiful day of sunshine and laughter, all while supporting a great cause. Throughout the years, over 400 women have golfed in this tournament, with a few even golfing for all 21 years!

In the early 1990’s, the Presentation Sisters committed themselves to raising awareness regarding women’s issues and needs. The Sisters began hosting women’s conferences and retreats with the goal for these events to bring awareness and response to women’s needs regionally and beyond. Over 2,500 women have attended at least one of these events, which are still held today.

Another way for women to network with one another was a women’s golf tournament. The proceeds from the golf tournament soon began funding our women’s events and also provide funding for a Presentation ministry.

A different Presentation ministry is highlighted and funded each year. We are able to visit with our golfers about this ministry and educate our attendees, as part of their registration fee supports the ministry. Different funded ministries have included Clinica San Jose in Guatemala, our African ministries in Kaoma and Kalomo, our Hispanic ministries, our Good Samaritan Ministry and this year’s ministry, our youth camps for young women.

We are very excited to continue this golf tournament and look forward to many more years on the course!
