Boxes of Joy for Children

This Christmas, 50 impoverished children living in developing companies will be receiving a box of joy. This is happening because of a $1,000 Easter egg grant (from the annual Easter appeal) and the motherhouse sisters’ generosity.

Sister Rita Jovick, project leader, said, “Since September, sisters have been making or purchasing gifts to bring a smile to a child’s face. Each child will receive 20 gifts, including school supplies, art materials and a recorder.” Also included is a Christmas card and a photo of the sisters. The sisters had a lot of fun filling the boxes and anticipating the happiness they will bring.

Cross Catholic Outreach coordinates this global effort through boxofjoy.org. In addition to the material gifts, the boxes carry to the children the message of God’s unconditional love. Please hold the project and the children in your prayers. More photos of the assembly process are on our website, www.presentationsisterssf.org/boxes-of-joy-for-children/
