New Windsor Sisters Visit Schools During Vocation Awareness Week

The Catholic Church in the United States celebrated National Vocation Awareness Week, November 6-12, 2016. This observance, sponsored by the U.S. bishops’ Committee on Clergy, Consecrated Life and Vocations, was a special time for parishes in the U.S. to foster a culture of vocations for the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life.

New Windsor’s Sister Barbara King visited the fifth grade students in Annunciation School in Crestwood, New York, while Sister Laura Urbano visited students at the Nora Cronin Presentation Academy in Newburgh, New York, and students from John the Baptist High School in West Islip. Both sisters had an opportunity to talk with students about religious vocations, particularly vowed life as a Presentation Sister.
