Back to NewsSister Margaret Walsh, a Lismore Presentation Sister from New South Wales, Australia, spent a number of weeks with the Staten Island Presentation Sisters. Margaret was here to attend the Indigenous Conference and Forum at the United Nations.
Sister Margaret has had many and varied ministries throughout her life. Besides working in secondary schools, she has been a pastoral care worker in different hospitals in Australia. Margaret has spent a number of years coordinating an English program for students in China, where she also taught herself. Sister has also spent time working with the Aborigines in the Kimberley Region of Western Australia. Margaret has a great reverence and respect for the earth and has spent time in both Australia and oversees promoting a spirituality founded in understanding and respecting the earth.
