St. Teresa’s school and parish recently held a Mass, open house and dinner dance to celebrate 60 years of education at the parish. The sisters were among the honorees at the event as they were the founders of the first school in the Parish. Bishop O’Hara presided at the mass and gave the main address. He spoke about the early days of the beginning of the school paying tribute to the hard work and dedication of the Staten Island Sisters.

Today the school is thriving and recognized as an excellent educational establishment. Three of the sisters who were a significant part of the school and its history were present. Sisters Margaret Mary, Rosemary and Barbara’s presence was especially recognized and appreciated by their former students.
