Sisters Fidelma, Mary and Sheila enjoy afternoon tea at St. Joseph Parish in Upland. This was a fundraiser designed to raise money to purchase food for the poor and homeless in the area.
The parish operates a food pantry, called HIS HANDS, which provides food for those people whose income is too low to provide adequate food for the family. During the first three quarters of this fiscal year, 5,690 people received assistance from this ministry. Much of the food is donated by parishioners and the rest is the result of food drives, organized and supervised by St. Joseph School students.
The pantry is open every morning and lines of people can be seen waiting for any help they can get for themselves and their children. This ministry is very close to the hearts of the Presentation Sisters and they are proud to be part of any fundraising activity that will help those who are less fortunate than we are.
